Direct application phosphate rock, New Zealand mined from the Clarendon deposit, Otago.
The Kiwiphos products are classified as DAPR (Direct Application Phosphate Rock). They are most suitable for maintaining long-term pasture production, typically blended with other required nutrients according to the needs of specific farms. Best suited to soils with pH levels of 5.8 or less, where the acid in the soil slowly dissolves the phosphate rock into plant-available form. During this process, soil acidity is consumed, offsetting the amount of lime required to maintain a given soil pH.
DAPR is a naturally occurring product, so some variation is to be expected. The figures below are derived from extensive testing by L&M, and any given product is reasonably expected to, but may not, fall within these parameters.
